As promised to everyone present at our "stand-up" this morning, we wanted to confirm (and from a source that just so happened to be the very first post from the very first feed (of the 198 feeds we) read, but also happens to be a blog we have much admiration for, even though it is a relatively unknown entity, it certainly offers a fairly wide set of stories related to Wordpress and blogging. When we read the article, we assumed that it was a practical joke, especially since it was on a blog about blogging…
"Bill Gates is No Longer The Richest Man in The World!"
After having assumed that this was a joke (sorry about that Moses) we went to the main page of our feed reader to see if anyone else had picked-up on the story. Low and behold, nearly every feed mentioned it:
Finally it has happened, Microsoft’s Bill Gates who has been at the top of Forbes rich list for quite some time now has been knocked off from the top spot by Mexican Carlos Slim,worth an estimated $67.8 billion compared to Gates $59.2 billion.
Forbes magazine reported in April that Slim had overtaken billionaire investor Warren Buffett for the No. 2 spot in the world’s richest stakes but was behind Gates.
Mexico has a huge rich-poor divide, with a tiny elite holding most of the country’s wealth and around half the population living on less than $5 a day.

Mashable seriously made-up for their slightly slower posting regards Bill’s fall from the top by giving us a low down on the Top ten richest men in Technology, once again with Bill being at two. What does that mean, well, it means that Carlos Slim Helu is a techno-junky!
