We were recently invited by MDeC to take part in the MSC Malaysian Delegation for Malaysian Creative Content Companies at the up-coming world’s largest audio-visual content market - MIPCOM 2007 from the 8th to 12th of October, 2007 in Palais des Festivals, Cannes - France.
It’s lucky that the MSC Malaysian Delegation for Malaysian Creative Content Companies does not have an acronym of its own, as it would include the word Malaysian 3 times within its sentence; like The Le De Restaurant.
Despite the fact that it costs over RM 5,000 per person (not including flights or accommodation) to participate in this event, we simply have far too many projects that we are working on at the moment to allow our design team to head over to France, but nonetheless, we wanted to include some information here for those wanting to learn more about it all:
MDeC would like to thank all companies who supported our Mission to MIPTV – Cannes, France last April 2007. FYI, in collaboration with FINAS, MDeC lead a delegation of 30 companies to Cannes and successfully brought back contracts worth a total of RM 236 million. Worth to note is that MSC Malaysian Game Companies were the leading revenue winners in the last trade show, followed by animation, mobile contents, documentary contents, TV/Films, and other post-production services.
MIPCOM 2007, organized by Reed Midem is one THE LARGEST media trade markets in Asia attracting over 10,000 audio-visual and 1,000 mobile, broadband & interactive TV professionals from over 93 countries around the world. MIPCOM 2007 gives you an opportunity to meet all the major foreign buyers mainly from Europe, America, and Asia. It has established itself as the prestigious annual event for showcasing of Films, TV Programs, Animation, Publications, Video Games, Character Merchandising, Mobile Entertainment, Licensing, Web Development, etc.
MDeC under its Creative Multimedia Department would like to take this opportunity to extend our invitation to Malaysian Companies from the Creative Content Industry to participate at this prestigious event. This year, MDeC has reserved almost 50 sqm of booth space within the MSC Malaysia Pavilion (3 times the space of MIPTV 2007). In addition, we’ve been given a premium booth location in the Main Hall in Row 05, next to Singapore’s MDA and Japan’s NHK. The booth space is very limited and will be distributed according on a “first- come- first- serve” basis to strictly sellers only interested to participate.
